How We Got Here

This plan really started all the way back when we were just dating. Zach always said that he would move to Wyoming. I firmly stated that I, would not, ever, ever, move away from Colorado. Apparently I was really wrong because here we are!

Our longterm, dream goal has always been to own land and build our dream home. But truthfully, it always felt really far off, too big, too expensive. But COVID happened and our lives flipped upside down. The job we moved to northern Colorado for was gone. The future at my job felt really uncertain. We quickly realized we were going to have to make a change.

So in September 2021, we came to Wyoming to check out some properties. We fell in love with the area and knew this is where we wanted to build our forever home. Thankfully, still within a few hour drive of both of our families! We closed on 40 acres of undeveloped land in December 2021. We listed our house in northern Colorado the next week and were under contract within 48 hours.

Last day at our Colorado house!

January 21, 2022, we moved our foster daughters of 2.5 years to their biological family (what a blessing!). January 31, 2022 we closed on our home in Colorado. February 1, 2022 we bought a toy hauler 5th wheel from our dear friends and moved with our “tiny home” to Wyoming!

SO here we are! 2 months of tiny living and slowly working on our land, one small step at a time!
